Ever wanted to develop your own website but just didn't know how to get started? Website Development is probably a lot easier than you think and we'll show you how.
Step 5: Access Your Cpanel
You can access your Cpanel by going to "mysite.com/cpanel", just replace "mysite" with your site name. You will get a popup where you enter user name and password.
Your Cpanel is your hosting control panel. There you can do things like check your sites email, look at site statistics and a whole lot more that we won't cover right now. Right now we are only worried about one button. Down towards the bottom of the page there is a little blue smiley face with the word fantastico, click on it.
You are only a few moments away from having a live website. In the left hand column you will see a list of software. You can choose to run your website with anyone of those. For this guide we are using Drupal. You can always uninstall it later and choose a different one. The first link under Content Management should be Drupal. Click on it.
You know have a form to fill out. You should see "Install on domain" at the top of the page. Make sure your domain is selected. Leave the "Install on directory" box blank. Next you will choose your administrator username. Make it something you will remember. We don't suggest using the word "admin" because that would be the first name a hacker would think of.
Now you need to choose a password. We recommend that you use an alpha/numeric password with a least one special character such as "#". The next box is for your admin email address. You will be able to change it later on your website if you need to.
Now click on the "Install Drupal" button. You will see some information about what Fantastico is about to do. Click on "Finish Installation". Guess what? You now have a live website! Let's configure it..
