APIs for Forum S/w ....?

Re. SMF, PhP BB and YaBB, do you know if:
- they provide APIs so that I can post text to the forum through a "program" or another programming "environment" where I can write scripts to simulate entries as if they were made by me through a browser???
- how do I set-up such an "environment"?
